Which class is right for my child?

Ages 1 to 3: Mandarin Prep Class

A warm, all-Mandarin start through songs, stories and play, building your little one’s listening ear and love of language in the early years. Learn more about Mandarin Prep Class

Turning 3 to 4? Children this age usually start in our Mandarin Class at P2 level, depending on readiness, and we will confirm the right fit at your free trial.

Pre-prep to Year 12: Mandarin Class

Weekly classes that take your child from first words to real fluency, grouped by ability into immersive and non-immersive streams (more on choosing a stream below). Learn more about Mandarin Class

Pre-prep to Year 12: English Class

Choosing a Mandarin stream

For Mandarin for Children, the main question is which stream fits your child.

Immersive stream

Best for children who already hear or speak some Mandarin at home. Classes run mostly in Mandarin so they keep building on what they already have.

Non-immersive (second-language) stream

Best for children new to Mandarin. We start with English support and lots of fun, then build up gradually, so they're never lost and never bored.

You don't have to get this exactly right. Children joining our non-immersive Mandarin class get a free trial in a suitable class; everyone else gets a free pre-enrolment assessment where we check your child's level and show you our curriculum. Either way, we'll find the right fit together.
