Frequently asked questions

What age can my child start?

From age 1 to 5 in Junior Mandarin Class. It's never too early or too late to begin.

My child doesn't speak any Mandarin. Can they keep up?

Absolutely. Our non-immersive stream starts with English support and lots of fun, then builds up gradually.

How big are the classes?

Small, just 2 to 8 children, so your child gets real attention.

Do you have a free trial?

Yes. Children joining our non-immersive Mandarin class get a free trial session in a suitable class. For all other students, we offer a free pre-enrolment assessment, where we assess your child's language skills and show you our curriculum and teaching materials. Either way, there is no pressure.

What if we miss a class?

A make-up session can usually be arranged, just let us know.

Can my child work towards VCE or IB?

Yes. Our curriculum is designed to lead all the way to VCE or IB Chinese when your child is ready.

How much do classes cost?

Our 2026 term fees vary by program and class length. You'll find the full fee table, prepay options and the one-off $50 enrolment fee on our Fees and Timetable page.

When do classes run?

We run small classes at a range of times, generally weekdays after school from 4:00 to 8:00pm, and weekends from 9:00am to 6:00pm. See our Fees and Timetable page, then tell us your child's age and availability and we'll recommend a class that fits.
