Our story
What started as small Mandarin classes and an early-years class 15 years ago has grown into a thriving school, with a team of professional teachers, and this year, a beautiful new centre in Camberwell.
A note from our founder
I'm Jessica, founder and head teacher at Real Mandarin. I trained in teaching Mandarin to speakers of other languages, completed a Graduate Diploma and a Master's in linguistics and education, and have spent years discovering how children truly excel at learning a language. Every textbook and exercise we use is designed around that.
Our teaching philosophy

Our teaching team
Our teaching team brings passion, care and rich experience to every class. Whichever level they teach, our classroom teachers follow the same standards and lesson plans, so every student reaches the same high learning outcomes. Teachers from some of Melbourne's best schools regularly review our curriculum and teaching to keep our classes closely aligned with the national curriculum and genuinely effective.
